If you’re an NFL sports fan, you most likely remember this famous short rant by Jim Mora after a loss by the Indy Colts..

Considering that it has received over 2 million views on YouTube, Jim will forever have his speech about the playoffs memorialized there.

For those NFL fans who reside in Baltimore, this has indeed been a surprising and satisfying season as very few could have predicted the season that the Baltimore Raven’s have amassed, going 14-2 and winning their last 12 games.

Now I must confess, I am not much of a NFL fan these days. I have probably watched a grand total of about 30 minutes of football the whole season, and I only know two players, the quarterback and the kicker and that’s mainly because I see him quite often doing those Royal Farm commercials. Still, I am kept informed by a couple of avid Raven’s fans at work, and so therefore I am aware of what’s going on with the Raven’s whether I chose to be or not.

From my perspective, things are setting up rather nicely for a rematch of 2012, when the Baltimore Raven’s played the San Francisco 49’ers in the Super Bowl as both teams have home advantage and only have to win 2 games to get there.

As for me, I won’t be watching the game regardless of who makes it to the big dance, as I just can’t get into it any longer. Too much money, and now politics thrown in to boot. I had my thrills as a child back in the days of Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, Lenny Moore, etc., and even though today’s athletes are bigger, much richer, and more talented, I will always look at those days of glory at Memorial Stadium as the ‘Real’ playoffs for me.
